Does anyone own the 21st Century or Forces of Valor 1/32 armor vehicles -- if so, which ones do you prefer?

KG_Jag 02-03-2005 05:53 PM

I have a number of the AFVs. As I recall, they come in kit versions (which are slightly better) and pre-assembled versions. They can be picked up at mass market retailers, one of which is Walmart, as well as on line. I would rate the kit versions as a partial notch below the Forces of Valor collector's series of a similar scale.

21st has some intersting models (Pz IIIs, Stuarts, Chaffees and Flakpanzers) that I haven't found elsewhere, at least not at this large a scale.

I have a 1/32nd scale Tiger from 21st century and loved it until I started buying the 1/72nd scale die cast Dragon armor.

I have everyone made so far and I saw an add in WW2 Monthly magazine that has a shitload of new ones coming out this year.

To name a few;

1. T-34's
2. German HT's
3. The Stug series
4. Mark IV series

It brings a tear to the eye,...

Everyone has there favorite brands and types. So here are mine:

AFVs--higher end (medium to larger scale)

1. Minchamps

2. King and Country

AFVs--lower end (medium to larger scale):

1. Forces of Valor--enthusiasts versions

AFVs (smaller--scales)

1. Verem (Jay will love these, if only becaue they are French)

2. Dragon 1/72nd scale line

Airplanes

1. Armour (they make the ones sold by the Franklin Mint--but you can get the Armour versions on line for a lot less money

2. Corgi--I have some very nice larger scale B-17, B-24 He-111 and P-51D (but watch it becaue some of their German models--especially in smaller scales have the swastikas omitted).

Due to a move, there's a purty good sale going on here:

This link is one of the many set forth above. However since it provides the best overview of which I am aware on the subject of the various die cast AFVs and the brands of same that are out there, I am posting it by itself:

Of course its from a Texas guy!

Stu--based on our TS conversation of just less than a week ago, you might want to check out the Dragoon 1/72nd scale AFVs on sale at On-Site. The are on your coast, a small mom and pop shop and relieable.

After comparing the other diecast tanks from the links Jag provided, I still think the Dragon series for 1/72nd scale are the best. I got in on them just as the series started, thanks to Jay and I haven't been dissappointed with one of them. I have all 29 that have been released so far and there are many, many more on the horizen.

I get all mine here-
