CONFLICT OF HEROES - Awakening The Bear, Operation Barbarossa 1941

New from Slitherine a port of the higly successful boargame. The opening paragraph from the site -

"Designed and developed in cooperation with Uwe Eickert, the original designer of Conflict of Heroes, and Western Civlization Software, the award-winning computer wargame studio, no effort has been spared to bring the outstanding Conflict of Heroes gameplay to the computer. Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear! includes an AI opponent as well as full multiplayer support with an integrated forum and game lobby. To remain true to the core gameplay of the board game, the PC version is designed to be fun, fast and easy to play, though hard to master. The game design is also historically accurate and teaches and rewards platoon and company-level combined arms tactics without overwhelming the player with rules."

The boardgame is supposed to be awesome. I've read the rules (which are available for download). If I didn't have a closet full of other games that need to be played, I'd pick it up. Plus, I have a two year old which means games have to be played and taken down in one sitting!

I have it and have been playing it quite a bit.

No campaign, but the scenarios are pretty good and gameplay really feels like a boardgame -- especially when you turn the dice on.

I haven't yet tried MP. I'll wait until you're ready.

Haven't noticed any flamethrowers, but if they're there, I know you'll find them. :)
