I still have all my Volumes sitting in my garage from about v7+ not sure when I quit getting them. I think around the ASL+ time, I sure have fond memories of boardgaming...

I had every issue from 1980 til they quit printing it. When i moved in with my brother in 1990 for a time while looking for work, my mother threw them away! Ack!
|
Augh! Too bad about that.
Sort of like all those "classic" comic books now that as a kid I cut up to play with the figures. I still have the original "Dragon" mags from TSR (AD&D) unfortunately I also cut up some of those for the articles, to keep handy all in one place (before copy machines were popular). |
These folks have put up a free counter template. It's designed for The Longest Day, but can probably be used for other games as well. The file opens with Photoshop or a free program like FastStone Maxview.
Here's what they say about it, including the download link: We've had several requests for counter reprints for The Longest Day. That is way to much work for us to do right now, but we did put together a counter template for TLD so YOU can assemble counters on a sheet and print them (or have us print them). The template is a multi-layer PSD file and you will need Photoshop to use it. I could create a multi-layered TIFF file it you want, just let me know. Simply turn on the layers you want, turn off the ones you don't, flatten the image, copy, and paste to a separate sheet, then un-do the flattened image and make the next one. If you use it and make changes to it, send it back so we can keep it up to date - we are releasing this template to the public domain. http://ahgeneral.org/gameparts/tld_counter_template.psd |

Great find Kent!

Thanks Bill.
I spent about 15 minutes DL'ing the rest of the ones I needed last night. They DL very fast, unlike the last place, and finished in a few seconds. I checked some of them out. There doesn't seem to be a loss of quality in the the difference between the files from the two sites. If your into the other Magazines put out by Avalon Hills parent company, they have them there as well. The short lived run of their RPG magazine - "Heroes" and the full run of "AVH All Star Replay". And for you ASL junkies, the have these rare third party products - "ASL At The Point" an independent magazine dedicated to ASL, Scott Romanoski's compilation of all errata published for ASL, including third party products, Several other short run ASL "Zines" that ran for 2 or 3 issues only. |
Kent, could you post a link to the ASL stuff you mentioned. I took a quick look and couldn't find it (at work, so didn't have long).
