First in the air this week is the Corgi 1:32 scale U.S. P-51D Mustang depicts the aircraft flown by Lt. Col. John L. Elder of the 357th FS, 355th FG as it was seen at RAF Steeple Morden in 1945. Wartoyz still has them for $61.99

Many people consider the P-51 Mustang the best fighter of WWII. Its combination of speed, range, maneuverability, and firepower gave it great versatility. Its use in all major theaters of the war included long range, high altitude escort of Bombers, close air support for ground troops, and photo reconnaissance.

This die cast 1:32 scale version of the U.S. P-51D Mustang depicts the aircraft flown by Lt. Col. John L. Elder of the 357th FS, 355th FG as it was seen at RAF Steeple Morden in 1945. Lt. Col. Elder became CO of the 357th FS in July 1944 and remained in command until VE-Day. He had 8 aerial and 13 strafing victories. This aircraft comes with three hand-painted metal figures, showing Elder watching as his flight crew adds his latest victory to his Mustang.

This Limited Edition 1:32 scale U.S. P-51D Mustang is part of Corgi's Aviation Archive series and its Flight Line Collection, and it is approximately 12 inches long with a wingspan of approximately 14 inches. It comes complete with three hand-painted figures representing Lt. Col. John L. Elder and his flight crew.

This item has been 'retired' by Corgi, and will no longer be available once our current inventory sells out.
