Default For the week of March 20, 2011

Spring has arrived, but I have yet spotted a single bluebonnet in central Texas. However, I have spotted a Collectors Showcase 1:30 scale Sturmgeschutz IV--9th SS Winter at Hobby Bunker for $89.99.

Hiding here after the last snow of the winter:

For those on budget, we present the Dragon 1:72 scale T-34/76 Mod. 1942 - Kharkov 1943 from Troy's Toys for $11.99.

Also in the snow, but on the other side here:

Taking to the air we again feature a Corgi 1:48 scale Sopwith Camel. However, this week it is the Camel flown by 35-victory ace Capt. Henry Winslow Woollett of No. 43 Squadron that Military Issue has for $26.95.

Replicating the Sopwith Camel flown by 35-victory ace Capt. Henry Winslow Woollett of No. 43 Squadron when he shot down a World War I-record six planes on April 12, 1918, this limited edition, 1/48 scale, die cast Corgi model features textured surfaces that simulate the original's fabric-on-wood construction, two Vickers machine guns and a clear windscreen mounted in front of the pilot-occupied cockpit, a detailed engine front with a rotating propeller and simulated bolt heads, real wire wing rigging, realistic landing gear with real rubber tires, authentic markings, and more. 7" wingspan; includes a display stand.

The dogfight begins here:

Last up is a Franklin Mint 1:48 scale AH-1 G Cobra "Rebels" 1st Inf. Div. offered by Joe Pilot for $24.75.

The Franklin Mint "Armour Collection" presents diecast detailed, ready-made diecast models of military and civilian aircraft. Armour Collection diecast airplanes from The Franklin Mint require no gluing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box. Made from diecast metal and plastic components, the die cast airplanes in the Franklin Mint's Armour Collection are 100% true to scale.

U.S. Army AH-1 G Cobra "Rebels", Company B, 1st Aviation Battalion, 1st Infantry Division.

The Bell AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter. It shares a common engine, transmission and rotor system with the older UH-1 "Huey". It is variously called the "Huey Cobra," "Sea Cobra," "Super Cobra," "Whiskey Cobra," "Zulu Cobra," "Viper," or "Snake", depending on the model.

Scale 1:48
