An Interesting Picture
Here s an interesting picture. I read somewhere, i belive it was one of Steven Ambrose'e books, but i could be wrong, that some units in Normandy, Paratroopers & Rangers, used Marine Camo. That was they only instance i ever saw mentioning that fact over the years and i never saw any photos until the other day, while perusing a WWII themed site on FaceBook, i stumbled across this picure and low and behold i had my first proof of Marine camo in the ETO. Pretty neat stuff. The caption mentioned a regular Army unit meeting up with a Para unit over a dead Germans body.
FYI - It was only used breifly as most allied units shot at any unit wearing camo on sight as they thought they were an Waffen SS outfit.

The guys pictures are 82nd AB. However, I know that the Rangers on D-day wore the camo. They stopped because they were mistakenly IDed as Germans by other friendlies.
