Flying out of the Green Zone and back a couple decades or so in time, our second selection is a Corgi 1:43 scale M113 Armored Ambulance from the Unsung Heroes Collection. It is available from Motormint for $24.98. Be warned about this vendor, who takes a very long time, 10 days to 2 weeks in my experience, before getting to your on-line order. Th e M113 Armored Personnel Carrier was used in Vietnam for everything from cavalry assault to command vehicles to ambulances. Produced from 1960 to 1992, they featured welded aluminum armor (sufficient to stop light arm fire) and a Detroit Diesel 212 hp. V-6 engine. Fully amphibious, it had a top land speed of 38 mph. As an ambulance it was fitted with 4 stretchers.
