Any Pacific Mods for CM

Dear KG Forums,


Does anyone know any Pacific Theater Mods for any of the Combat Mission Games? I love CMAK, but the only thing I dont like about it is that it doesnt have the USMC or Japan in it.

It is not really possible to madify the units in Combat Mission any further than the skins. the models, unit data, armament and so on are hard coded into the engine. It was their way of ensuring revenue for future games.

There was Pacific Mod package made for CMBO.

However, it was limited to making the Japanese look like the Germans. As Rob pointed out, all the units are hard coded. So you could not accurately reflect Japanese units, unless they coincidentally exactly corresponded to a German unit in the original game. The American and CW units were closer, but the the extent that a marine unit differed from an ETO army unit, that too could not be reflected.

Oh well, I just had to hope, I guess. The only strategy Game I've played that had the Pacific theater in it was Steel Panthers (Man thats an old game). Anyone know any modern Strategy Games with the Pacific theater?

War in the Pacific and Uncommon Valor, both from Matrix are available. TOAW 3, again from matrix covers the WW2 in the Pacific,as well as many more topics and periods of time.

On a much smaller scale, HPS had at least one tactic game. See:
