Yep, I have the map finished.

I'll send it out for the review by this weekend.

The map has been sent!

Check it out & discuss the armor restrictions here then we'll get down to the unit purchases.

My gut reply for armor is to Not limit Allies.
But here is where it gets touchy ......Ready?
Limit Axis to 75L48 but allow 105mm
Basically cutting out 75L70 and 88mm
Leaving those to the discretion of Kerry
as to how many andf what kind of "Big Cats" (or other heavies) to substitute for
any (comparable)? Number of chosen units.
Or just to add as he sees fit? as part of
his "twist". They definately belong in the game on some level.
I think any "Big Cats" should enhance the game not
necessarily dominate the game.

My hopes would also be for a good mix of different units for both sides.
Maybe a rule where there could only be so many of any one type of unit.
Especially the less common stuff.
Try for the real feel as opposed to the "here is what Im used to playing with and I know I can win with it" type force mix.
Maybe even something like where 50% of units must be regular or green?
Just my .02$

well more like .04$

Yes--except if you buy the $5 VISTA patch.

Anyone else have any armor comments or just go with KG_Spoom's no Axis selections of L/70 - 88mm?
As far as dropping in a big cat(s) would the ratio need to be 4:1 in "extra" armor for the allies?

If you could count on the air power I could toss in a P38L but they are as likely to start attacking Allied trucks as they are Panthers. (Trucks are easier to kill anyway.)

For purchases we're looking at basically a battalion (-) on defense (Inf/Support/Vehicle) & on offense a battalion with Armor (3 plt's +-) & anything else you want.
Units will be at 80-70% strength for fun.

Date will be Oct '44 unless someone wants a particular month.

FYI- I built the map using an Italy "dirt" 10/43 date - I had a shock switching the parameter date to 10/44, didn't look like the same map, took me a bit to adjust to the change. The land south of Rome must look A LOT different than north of Rome- or at least the game designer thinks so. (switch the date & see :) )

Kerry--travel, flu and home repair issues (our computer room is temporary power equipment HQ) have compiled to delay me in taking a look. I'll do so no later than Saturday and provide feedback by then as well. Sunday--we're on the road again.

Given the fact that M10's are both available and very cheap, I don't see any reason to limit purchases of either side--except I prefer no air power.

If Kerry throws in some air assets--that's OK. His mystery units and plot twists leave me even stronger in my view that there should be very limited or no purchase restrictions.

P.S. On Sunday I start a three day road trip.
