Default What KIND of FPS do you like/play

I myself prefer the tactical versus the mind numbing "FRAG THEM ALL" type but I have always like Unreal Tournament... ( Not 2002,2003 or 2004 only the original UT )

The one game that got me into Shooters in the first place was Rainbow Six ( the original ) The environments were so real as well as the modeling for the people...... Having to hold down a button to open a door or to throw a frag or not being to spray and pray...really having to choose your shots wisely...having to worry about hostages in a room that also had gun happy Tangos.... That all got my blood going... and then of course the well made sequels....it opened my eyes to having be tactical or silent in doing recon missions without having to fire a shot or be seen.

The Rainbow Six series is probably the Best Shooter series ever created.
I also like what they did with regards to combat with the Ghost Recon Series.

My favorites :

MOHAA
MOHAA: Spearhead
MOHAA: Breakthrough
Battlefield 1942 Series
Far Cry
Call of Duty
COD:United Offensive
Call of Duty 2
Operation Flashpoint
OFP:Red Hammer
OFP:Resistance
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
( Great Multiplayer action )
Unreal Tournament
The Entire Rainbow Six series
( I have yet to get Lockdown, great Demo though )
Ghost Recon Series ( I don't have them anymore )
Star Wars Jedi Knight series ( I am a Star Wars Nut )
Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike:Source
Day of Defeat:Source
Red Orchestra

These are just a few that I play or played....

Does anyone else have a personal Favorite?

If we like the same games maybe we could hook up and play on the same server sometime or do some Co-Op if at all possible.

What Crimson really meant was "The best shooter ever made is the next one coming out and I throw my money at them like like a redneck in a bait and tackle shop."

LMAO!

Crim is one of the best twitchers I have ever met. But he has recently delved in Combat Mission so I won't go too hard on him.

I too play a couple of shooters; CoD2 and Red Orchestra. I haven't played lately because I gave them up for Lent but I do believe that CoD will fade in favor of RO. I played RO when it was merely a mod for Unreal 2004 and enjoyed the hell out of it then. Now that it is it's own stand alone I know I will derive HOURS of enjoyment from it. Not nearly as many as Andy, just look at his little signature stat box thingies... A testament to either entirely too much free time or no life; I'll let him pick which it is.

I like MOH & Spearhead Expansion. Call of Duty, Operation Flashpoint was the most realistic in my opinion. A great Game.

I hardly ever play em but I do like Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2. Oh and lest I forget, Halo and Halo 2.

At the arcade, I loved Crisis Zone with the big honking machine gun, especially on a big projection screen, House of the Dead (all of 'em), and the other Time Crisis games.
