2. I agree whole heartedly with you. Most people would do that. But what im talking about is seeing something that isnt readily apparent or right in front of you that you may miss for a turn or two that those mods may give straight away, such as Bill's afore mentioned foxholes in shellholes, a hunk of trench sticking out from a section of trees or bushes, ect.

I miss playing you and everyone else. I need to get another hard drive. I had to take off all the CM games so the old lady could put her stuff on the PC so she can work at home. Id like to get a big external HD. That way i dont have to mess around installing it and ill have it for future PCs.

A real commander has the ability to see in 3D and has depth perception.
You are using 3D eyes to a view 2D screen and will miss landscape features because of it. I like grids, they help see details that would otherwise get missed. Kent's point is valid though, it does offer a advantage over ungridded computer screens.

My opinion on grids and mods in general with respect to cheating....
As long as everyone has access to said mods or grids then I dont see it as cheating. The sharper terrain and building mods give me a way better feel for distance and los/lof (IMHO) than the grids I used before. I just added Niessuh's hi res grid mods and its way easier on the eyes also plus the grids are barely visible, just enought to help with heights.
