- The hatches open and the accessories can come off
- Tank track rolls along the working suspension

Flying out of the Green Zone and back a couple decades or so in time, our second selection is a Corgi 1:43 scale M113 Armored Ambulance from the Unsung Heroes Collection. It is available from Motormint for $24.98. Be warned about this vendor, who takes a very long time, 10 days to 2 weeks in my experience, before getting to your on-line order. If you really want a particular piece, I suggest that you telephone or risk being disappointed as I was recently. With that said, here is the piece:

Default For the week of December 16, 2007

This is the week to buy 1:48 scale Franklin Mint/Armour aircraft. There are two closeouts sales--look like liquidations to me--that are being held. We will feature two aircraft from each. Both are featured on their own respective thread in this section. So if you want to see all the offerings, check out those threads.

The first of these is from ClassicCloseouts, where as I write, 27 planes are on the menu (28 are listed but the desert Bf-109F is listed twice at two different prices).

From this sale we feature is the DH98 Mosquito, Black Rufe for $39.99.

See more of it here:

http://www.classiccloseouts.com/item...3935&att_id=85

The second pick from this sale is a JU87 Stuka Dora Tank Killer from the Luftwaffe in winter camo. It will set you back just $32.99.

You can see a bigger picture of it here:

http://www.classiccloseouts.com/item...3917&att_id=85

The second FM/Armour blowout is from Badcat and features over 40 different planes. From that sale we feature not only a P-38, one of FM's best molds, but we were going to feature Richard Bong "Marge". Unfortunately that one has sold out. So we will feature, for also $39.99:

P-38 Little Buckaroo 1:48 Franklin Mint B11E379 CLEARANCE

The link is here:

Our last FM pick is a JU-52 at $79.99.

With four aircraft featured, we still have a couple of ground vehicles to include for the week.

The first is a modern era 1:32 scale FOV U.S. tank for $29.99 at the Toy Headquarters. It is:

1:32 U.S. M60A1 Patton Desert Storm

U.S. Marine M60A1 Patton Tank with Reactive Armor - Kuwait 1991.
Enthusiast Series
1:32 scale die cast steel collectible from Forces of Valor.

This vehicle features true-to-life detail. Tank tracks that really roll along their independent suspension, hatches and access ports that reveal internal compartments. Turrets and gun barrels that maneuver just like they did in battle. Real life accessories to stow alongside and a display stand with name plate. The detail on this tank is amazing. These are some of the best die cast replicas out today. Comes with one action figure, gas cans, sand bags, and removable armor.

Default For the week of December 23, 2007

Merry Christmas! This weeks picks come too late to be Christmas gifts, but maybe you got a few bucks in your stocking and are looking for some post Christmas die cast deals to "invest" those extra bucks.

Our two featured fighting vehicles are both from Franklin Mint in the 1:24 scale. The first is for those who have the most Christmas cash. From the Flying Mule and offered at $95.00 it is:

Franklin Mint Armour Collection B11E207
M1 Abrams Tank Diecast Model--NATO

1:24 Scale Length WidthM1 Abrams 16" 6"

Franklin Mint Armour Collection

The Franklin Mint "Armour Collection" range presents detailed, ready-made diecast models of military vehicles. Armour Collection diecast vehicles from The Franklin Mint require no glueing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box.

Franklin Mint "Armour Collection" diecast vehicles feature:
  • Diecast metal construction with some plastic components.
  • Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.
  • Pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals.
  • Accurately detailed underside.
To check it out, go to Iraq, or click this link:

http://www.flyingmule.com/products/FM-B11E207

Our next pick is from the first Gulf War. Diecast Direct has only one left of these Humvees at $54.00 (with free shipping). They never let me show you any product of theirs that is featured. So you'll have to see it here:

http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_mod...ctCode=FM-B648

Going upstairs, we will continue with Franklin Mint, as many of their products, especially a large slice of their aircraft are on closeout from various vendors. This week we will start by featuring another livery of the JU-52 and at an even better price than last week. This 1:48 bird can be flying your way before the end of the year from Trinkets to Treasures, provided you air mail your $70.00 to them first. It is:

Franklin Mint Armour Junkers Ju 52-3m Tante Norway Campaign
[B11B657]

The Franklin Mint has earned legendary status by producing some of the most finely detailed and historically accurate die-cast aircraft models in the industry. This aircraft is no exception. This is a 1:48 scale model of the German Junkers Ju 52-3M Tante KGrzb V 106 Norway Campaign. The Junkers was first built in the 1930's yet remained in service for more than a quarter century. During the Second World War the Ju52 became the Luftwaffe's standard workhorse and was known affectionately as 'Tante Ju' (Auntie Ju). Flown mainly as a transport, it also fulfilled air-ambulance and, more unusually, mine-clearance roles. For the latter it was fitted with a large metal hoop which could be energized by a motor to explode magnetic sea-mines. This highly detailed die-cast model is built to scale. Approximate size is 15 1/2 inches in length and has a wingspan of approx. 22 inches. From the Franklin Mint Armour Collection number B11B657. The Franklin Mint Armour collection contains some of the finest detailed military and civilian scale model aircraft. They come completely assembled and ready to display! All Franklin Mint Armour diecast models are true to scale. Each model is precision-engineered and packed with authentic detail. Armour collection aircraft are decorated in authentic paint schemes - complete with military markings and historic artwork.

Our final pick this week is also a German World War II bird, but this one is a Corgi in the 1:72 scale. Offered by Burbank's House of Hobbies for $17.99, it is:

Only 3760 made on this model. Comes with display stand.

Corgi 1/72 JU87 Eastern Front Russia 1943 (Predators Series) CRGPR99407

Default For the week of December 30, 2007

With the new year upon us, this will be the last set of selections for 2007.

We'll start with a big item I never expected to feature this year. Searching the wilds of Montana, I have found an original issue 1:16 scale FOV King Tiger, priced at $599.99 with free shipping. It's from International Toy Soldier Gallery.

See more of it here:

What may be the last link left is here:

I know that all of you don't have a spare $600 this time of year, so our second offer is a much more affordable $29.99--Canadian dollars that is. From Modeller's Choice, we feature a 1:50 scale Corgi Tiger 1 tank with six German soldiers hanging around for a free ride>

We have three aircraft picks this week. I'll start with one that I could not resist because of the name. Yes, it's the one and only "Hoo Flung Dung" P-51D in 1:72 scale from Witty and On Mark for $17.98.

Be sure to duck before you hit this link:

Our second selection is a Hobby Master German MIG 21 in 1:72 scale. Diecast Direct has only 2 left at $14.97. So hit your afterburner if you want one. The pictures of this bird is from the Hobby Master Collector site.

Here's the link:

Our final pick is a rare Revell die cast bird. In the 1:72 scale from Hobbylinc for $36.19, it is a F-14D Tomcat.
