Default CMSF and Its Demo Released by Battlefront

Yesterday Battlefront released Combat Mission Shock Force [CMSF]. Today, in the early morning hours, it also released the game demo for downloading.

CMSF concerns itself with a near future hypothetical war between the United States and Syria. It can be played in real time or with the WEGO system that has been used in earlier CM games, which used the original game engine.

CMSF is the first or many planned releases by Battlefront using their new CM x 2 game engine. Battlefront tells us that upcoming CM x 2 games will include a wide variety of eras, conflicts and possibly even a game involving "Space Lobsters". The next game to be released after CMSF is to be a return to World War II and to France in the summer of 1944, involving the Germans and U.S. forces.

The Combat Mission: Shock Force demo includes:
  • Two scenarios playable from either the US or Syrian side
  • All multiplayer modes are active (TCP-IP, PBEM, Hotseat)
  • You can access and play with the full Game Editor (save function is disabled)
  • The full 200+ page game manual (pdf format)
Get it here:

For those who bought the full game from Paradox, the 1.01 patch for the game is also available through links on the same page.
