Default Smoke

Any of you guys found a smoke round that will last longer than 2 turns? Particularly from an artty spotter. I am dropping 105 smoke in my Top Players game and the stuff is leaving all too quickly.

I think it all leaves at the same rate unfortunately. The only difference is the size of the smoke puff depending on the size of the smoke round fired. I think the only way to keep the smoke constant is to have salvos going off from two sources at alternate intervals, and make use of tank smoke rounds to add to it.

It's a pity that smoke doesn't drift with the wind...mmmmmm realism....

Are you sure about the two rounds? IIRC, 15cm smoke shells last 5-10 minutes.
But I have not tested this yet. *Edit*: Maybe it got something to do with the wind?

BTW, drifting smoke screens shall be possible in CM2x, I have seen this mentioned somewhere on the BFC board

In Soldier's and my game his smoke only lasted 2 rounds.... is this the norm?

It's not very effective if thats the case.

Its all about timing and laying multiple layers of smoke over several turns.

I fired about 30 rounds from an 82 mm spotter and rushed for the trees two turns later, only to see the smoke and my men dissapate before mine old failing eyes, such a horrible site.
