After looking at the map, I sure like the idea of a few trps and arty for ambushes
Is arty going to be on the table for this round???

We almost certainly will have some arty.

Kerry--if TRP's are purchased, are we limited to putting them in our own SU zones or is the whole map open for their placement?

Assuming rarity is off, here are my suggestions for our 2,100 point defensive force:

Vet SS Mech Auf. Batt. (includes guns, 81 mm mtrs.and Pioneers): 1902 pts.

2 x Vet 105 howitzers (56 x 2 =) 112 pts.

Reg. 75 mm sptr. (radio) 56 pts.

Reg. 75 mm sptr. (25 rounds--no radio) 30 pts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another interesting option could be build around a vet Gebrigs. Batt. '44, which costs 1669 points.

I'd like to see a few trps added to the defensive force, this group will be in contact immediately and I'd like to place a few of them in likely positions and possibly have spotter drop his rounds at turn 1.

We should see some American faces on the 1st turn, and then can decide if to let the rounds fall on the trps or hold off.

Its fairly evident that witht he amount of forces we are allowed, we will be trading shots on turn 1...there fore the outcome of th first 2-3 turns will no doubt dictate the flow of the entire game...We should front load with the heaviest armor available to us...

I thought we would be mostly in defilade from the setup zone, have you checked the LOS Bob?

I looked at available armor, here is what I like, and what I'm concerned with

MK IV G, mid to late, L/48 gun, exellent ammo load out, blast 45, power turret
MK IV J, same as above, with a hand treversed turret
NOTE: (I'm not sure if the game engine slows the J turret down to simulate hand cranked)
**EDIT** I checked and the J has a slow turret

MK III STuG G, L/48 gun, binocular sights, great for over watch, lower ammo load
MK III STuH/42, 105 gun, low ammo load, very low HC, no AP, great Blast 114, ** EDIT**

I havent looked at Hetzers, or Marters yet, I will look tonight

The Fallschirmjäger Batt looked promising also with a ammo load at 30,

Bill, your correct about the vet Gebrigs. Batt. '44, they are insanely armed with 6 SMGs per squad, and a boat load of HMGs, but a 26 ammo load might be a bit short

The PZ/GR batt has fewer SMGs, 2 per squad, but higher ammo at 41

We need some options or a solid idea...soon. I think there are great options oavailable if we can't use 75L70 or 88's. Hetzers are great and then there are the Mk IV F2s, and Jagdpanzer IV with 75L48...
