Default Warcraft III--game of cheaters?

I picked up this little nugget at the Wargamer:

"Blizzard Entertainment has released word that over 53000 Battle.net accounts have been banned for cheating in some form while playing Warcraft III."

unfortunitely Jag, cheating is a part of everygame!

There are ALWAYS those that seek the upper hand no matter what.

Personally, I see no joy in cheating (contrary to those that say I am a hacker...... Like they have ever seen me play golf! )
whats the point in playing if you know your going to win? At least it's no fun for me (Except maybe when I am playing against my brother that is    )

The greatest fun for me is playing my un-modded, un-hacked game against these little script-kiddie wannabe l33t haXors and dropping them like flies with an iron sighted bolt action rifle. I introduced Crimson to the joys of this and he has taken to it with a vengeance!

Huh.. what does cheating have to do with that?
Sometimes, there is absolutely no possible way you could have been killed except when someone has an aimbot.

Attitudes like that are exactly why PunkBuster and others have come along ( and yes I know it still goes on but not as much ) way to stop the cheaters. Heck, companies are now banning IP's and CD Keys if your caught cheating.

Cheating is NOT something to boohoo over, It's something that requires action.

AMEN TO THAT! I couldn't agree more, I think steampowered games would be a good start, considering their "valve" anti-cheat software is a piece of junk, i know tons of friends who have hacks and they work perfectly.....if valve hired punkbuster and implemented it into the steampowered games, 80% of the cs community would be banned in the first day, LMAO

i wasnt refering to people boohooing about cheating, i refering to people who complain every time they get killed. they always have an excuse. like they are so good that if they did get killed, the person that shot them had to have been cheating, because thats the only way that anyone could kill "the kid", or what ever his moniker is.... :?

one more reason not to play silly FPS's... which dispite it all, i still love, god only knows why though...

The comfort I have playing FPSs is that I know going in that I will be dealing with the planet's lowest common denominator. I expect to run into hacks, cheats, punks, assholes and tantrum throwing children. As long as I maintain a reasonably low opinoin of the community in general things are OK.
