Home > Clearance Items > 10 Play Time 1:72 Hobby Master Diecast 1301 MOVING SALE

:72 scale die cast jet by Hobby Master.

Model Features:

Detailed Cockpit
Accurate Panel Lines and Surface Details
Heavy Diecast Construction
Plastic Components
Equipped Armament
Authentic Paint Scheme
Display Stand Included
Interchangeable Landing Gear (Up or Down)
Length: 8.75"
Wingspan: 9.75"

About the A-10 Thunderbolt II:
The A-10 has superior maneuverability at low speeds and altitude, thanks to straight, wide wings with downturned "droop" wing tips. These also allow short takeoffs and landings, permitting operations from rugged, forward airfields near front lines. The plane can loiter for extended periods of time and operate under 1,000 feet (300 m) ceilings with 1.5-mile (2.4 km) visibility. It typically flies at a relatively slow speed of 180 knots (200 mph or 320 km/h), which makes it a much better candidate for the ground-attack role than fast fighter-bombers, which often have difficulty targeting small and slow-moving targets.

On day 3 of the air war a US Navy F-14 was downed 80 miles from Baghdad. An A-10A called “Playtime” piloted by Captain Paul Johnson stayed on station for 10 hours providing SAR coordination as well as close air support. Because of his action Capt. Johnson earned the Air Force Cross and many missions later the aircraft 78-0681 was retired to the US AF Museum at Wright–Patterson AFB, Ohio where it can be seen.

Default For the week of March 30, 2008

We start out this week with an old friend in an unusual 1:56 scale. From Wartoyz and Hobby Master offered for $17.99, it is an early production Tiger 1.

In pursuit of greater firepower, the German Army created a series of heavy battle tanks. One of the most formidable was the Tiger Tank. With 100mm thick armor plating and an awesome 88mm gun, the Tiger was vastly superior to the Allied tanks it faced.

This highly detailed 1:56 scale die-cast version of the Early Production version of the Tiger 1 (Sd. Kfz. 181) depicts Tank No. 8, sPzKp Meyer 'Strotch'.

This German Tiger 1 Sd. Kfz. 181 is part of Hobby Master's Ground Power series. The 1:56 scale die cast metal vehicle is approximately 4.5 inches long (6 inches long with gun barrel), and has a turret that rotates and a gun barrel that raises and lowers.

This item has been 'retired' by Hobby Master, and will no longer be available once our current inventory sells out. Order now to avoid missing out on this best seller!

*ON SALE* - Normally priced at $21.99, today just:

Price: $17.99

Item Number: HM-HG0102

In stock - available for immediate delivery!

Get to it here:

Our second AFV is from the classic Verem line in the 1:50 scale. It to is German but from decades later. For $24.00 from Buffalo Road we feature the Leopard 1.

Check out this die cast classic here:

http://www.constructionscalemodels.c...id=%204734

This week we feature a third ground pounder selection, but it is not an AFV. Instead it is the now difficult to find 1:35 Minichamps Flak 36 88 mm Russia 1943 mot 314 Charkow. For $99.00 Buffalo Road will make it yours.

Unlimber yours here:

It's time to turn our eyes to the sky for this weeks airplane selections, both of which are from World War II. The first is an HE-111 from the being of the war and the German invasion of Poland. It is a Franklin Mint 1:48 scale bird offered by Randy's Die Cast for $69.00.

See it third from the top on this page:

Default For the Week of April 6, 2008

The first week in April is a bountiful week that will feature three AFV and three aircraft selections.

We'll begin with another Hobby Master tank in the unusual 1:56 scale. this one is offered by Team 10 for $22.00 and is: Hobby Master Tiger I, sPzAbt 101, Michael Wittmann, Russia, January 1944 1/56 scale.

Link to this last sign of winter here:

http://www.team10collectibles.com/se...Tiger-I/Detail

Wings Model has only one of these 1:35 scale Dragon Tigers left at $54.99.

1/35 Tiger I "#122" (Initial Production), s.Pz.Abt.502

Fully pre-assembled and ready for display! Includes a barrel that can recoil!

This new 1/35 scale fully built-up model features an initial Tiger I with vehicle number “122”. It is skillfully hand painted in a stunning winter camouflage pattern as a member of sPzAbt 502. The original vehicle was one of the first Tiger I's ever to see combat on the Eastern Front.

Some of the peculiar features of this vehicle are the stowage bin mounted on the turret rear, and handrails on the turret sides. The lengthy 8.8cm scale gun barrel can even recoil!

Main Features:
- True to 1/35 scale (2nd release in the series!)
- Fully assembled
- Accurate winter camo and markings for a Tiger I serving with s.Pz.Abt.502
- Historically accurate
- Hatches can be opened and closed
- Front machine gun can rotate and point in different directions
- Barrel can recoil, just like the real thing
- Includes a display base

About the Tiger I:
The Tiger I was in use from late 1942 until the German surrender in 1945. It was given its nickname by Ferdinand Porsche. The design served as the basis for other armoured vehicles, including the Tiger II, or 'King Tiger' tank, and the Sturmtiger self-propelled gun.

The Tiger differed from earlier German tanks principally in its size; although the general design and layout were broadly similar to the previous heavy tank, the Panzer IV, the Tiger weighed more than twice as much. This was due to its substantially thicker armor, the larger main gun, and the consequently greater volume of fuel and ammunition storage, larger engine, and more solidly-built transmission and suspension. The Tiger I had front armor up to 100 mm thick, as opposed to the 80 mm front armor of contemporary models of the Panzer IV, with 80 mm on the sides and back. The armor, especially in the front, was very effective at stopping anti-tank rounds of most of the WWII tank guns at common engagement distances. At closer ranges and on the sides, the tank was more vulnerable. Its roof armor was 25 mm or 40 mm, similar to most medium tanks of the day.

I guess there is in fact one more sign of winter and it is at the bottom of this page:

http://wingsmodel.com/mm5/merchant.m...tegory_Code=DA

It's hard to believe that it's already mid-April and just two days away from income tax filing day in the U.S. In anticipation of the refunds some of you will be receiving, we are doing our best to revive and revitalize the economy.

Our first AFV pick is for you old school filers of paper returns. It's a classic 1:50 scale Verem German Bussing Nag armored car from Military Diecast for $24.50.

Check it out here:

http://crgrace.com/zen-cart/index.ph...roducts_id=172

Our second AFV is from the same side, but charged with the heavy lifting during World War II. Offered by Bad Cat at $65.00 as part of the Moving Sale, it is a Dragon 1:35 scale Tiger I Nowe Koszary 1944 1:35 Dragon 61019.

Features:
True to 1/35 scale
Accurate two-tone camouflage scheme with weathering
Accurate tracks with appropriate level of sag
Includes a display base

Dragon Armor is proud to announce a magnificent 1/35 scale rendition of a Tiger I from 1./s.Pz.Abt. 505 fighting in Nowe Koszary in 1944. It is a Late Production variant, with such associated features as steel road wheels, updated commander’s cupola, and single headlight centrally located in the center of the hull front. The heavy tank unit s.Pz.Abt. 505 was formed in January 1943. It was involved in the titanic tank battle at Kursk and returned to the Eastern Front after being refitted in July 1944. It saw combat in East Prussia in a vain attempt to stem the implacable tide of the Red Army.

This model tank is the result of painstaking craftsmanship, with even minute details carefully recreated. This is the advantage of the larger 1/35 scale, where even the tiniest of items can be shown in glorious detail. The model is topped off with a stunning two-tone paint scheme of green stripes over a yellow base coat. This Tiger I bears the famous “charging knight on horseback” insignia of s.Pz.Abt 505, this insignia being delicately rendered using the pad-painting process. A touch of color is also provided by a band of yellow on the base of the gun tube and the vehicle tactical number “334”. The model is expertly finished off with a tasteful level of dry-brushing and weathering, even down to its individual track links.

Pick up your ticket to the eastern front here:

http://www.badcataviation.com/tiinoko191dr.html

We have three selections from our airfield this week. The first is from Trinkets to Treasures and is a Corgi 1:72 scale Corgi Vickers Wellington MkVIII RAF Coastal Command [AA34805] for just $45.99.

In April 1942 the Wellington GR Mk.VIII entered service with No.172 squadron of Coastal Command. The GR.VIII was a modified Mk.IC bomber, with ASV Mk.II radar installed and in some cases also a Leigh Light. On 3/4th June 1942 the first attack on a surfaced submarine at night using a Leigh Light was carried out by a Vickers Wellington of No.172 Squadron, RAF Coastal Command, flown by Squadron Leader J.H. Greswell. The target was the Italian Navy Marconi Class submarine Luigi Torelli. When illuminated, the submarine initially remained on the surface and fired recognition flares, believing the aircraft to be friendly. The Wellington then dropped four Mk8 depth charges, damaging the submarine. From the Aviation Archive collection #AA34805. It's the Vickers Wellington MkVIII - HX379:WN-A, No.172 Squadron, Coastal Command. An amazing amount of detail on this scale model. Complete with display stand. Includes landing gear for display in the up or down position. Includes working Leigh Light! Wingspan is approx. 14 inches in length! Limited Edition! Includes numbered certificate.

The patrol starts here:

http://www.trinketstotreasures.com/a...l-command.html

From the same power in the same war, we have another Corgi. But this one is in the 1:32 scale and is offered by 3000 Toys for $77.00 with free shipping. It is a Hawker Sea Hurricane 1B - No. 880 SQ. Fleet Air Arm, HMS Indomitable, Indian Ocean. Restoration started in earnest in February 1986, and led to the first flight of the world's only Sea Hurricane 1B in the hands of pilot Andy Sephton on September 16, 1995.

Here's your course:

http://www.3000toys.com/catalog/item...d=CORGIAA35504

Our final selection is also a UK bird but from the modern era. Spirit of '76 has the Panavia Tornado GR.1P (AA33603) on sale for just $16.99! The site does not have a picture but Tim's great Unofficial Corgi site does.

See Tim's full page on this bird here:

OK aircraft fans--it's your turn. Our first selection is an excellent value on the Century Wings 1:72 scale F-14A Tomcat. Joe Pilot brings you the F-14A Tomcat - USN VF-101 Grim Reapers for $48.95.

F-14A Tomcat - USN VF-101 Grim Reapers, AD164, NAS Oceana, VA, 2004
The "Century Wings" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made diecast models of military aircraft. Beginning with the ever popular F-14 Tomcat, Century Wings are setting a new standard in 1:72 diecast for detail and accuracy. Each model includes a selection of weapons and removable pilot figures. Most notable however, are the completed landing gear sub-assemblies that snap quickly into place, eliminating the frustration of attaching numerous individual gear doors and struts found on similar diecast models.

This beautiful rendition of the famous F-14 Tomcat can be configured for ground or "in-flight" display. Furthermore, the wings can be positioned in varying levels of sweep position.

Scale: 1/72 - Length: 10.25" - Width: 10.75"

The Buccaneer is the world's first low-level, high-speed strike aircraft. It was capable of delivering a nuclear weapon and flying beneath enemy radar at speeds in excess of Mach 0.9. In January 1966, No. 809 Squadron re-equipped the Buccaneer S.1 to the S.2, and embarked in HMS Hermes in January 1967, sailing around the world before returning home in February 1968. Wingspan 7"

About This Tank
Officially named the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. B, the King Tiger was a formidable German tank weighing 69.8 tons. Entering production in mid-1944, it was armed with an 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun and its frontal armor was up to 180mm thick. With such assets, this tank could easily prey on its less well-armed Allied opponents. However, its bulk and underpowered engine meant it wasn’t as effective in offense. Dragon Armor has launched a fantastic new fully built-up 1/35 scale model of a Tiger II. This is the very first Henschel production version of the King Tiger to feature in the larger-scale Dragon Armor range. The actual vehicle it is based on was a tank of sPzAbt 506 that fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes in December 1944. Interestingly, this was the only Heer Tiger battalion to participate in the winter offensive.

HE-111 Ottana Sardinia from Corgi
Commonly regarded as the torpedo bomber H6 version of the HE 111, the H-6 saw use on all fronts including the campaign in North Africa. The aircraft depicted here is in the Mediterranean camouflage from KG 26. KG 26 was the main anti-shipping torpedo geschwader of the Luftwaffe in the Second World War. KG 26 reached the height of their effectiveness attacking convoys over the Baltic as they sailed from the UK to Murmansk in Russia. They developed a tactic they called the `golden comb'. This involved the torpedo-carrying HE 111s attacking all at once in line abreast formation at low altitude at dusk when visibility was at its poorest.
