After looking at the map, I sure like the idea of a few trps and arty for ambushes
Is arty going to be on the table for this round???

We almost certainly will have some arty.

Kerry--if TRP's are purchased, are we limited to putting them in our own SU zones or is the whole map open for their placement?

Assuming rarity is off, here are my suggestions for our 2,100 point defensive force:

Vet SS Mech Auf. Batt. (includes guns, 81 mm mtrs.and Pioneers): 1902 pts.

2 x Vet 105 howitzers (56 x 2 =) 112 pts.

Reg. 75 mm sptr. (radio) 56 pts.

Reg. 75 mm sptr. (25 rounds--no radio) 30 pts.

Another interesting option could be build around a vet Gebrigs. Batt. '44, which costs 1669 points.

I'd like to see a few trps added to the defensive force, this group will be in contact immediately and I'd like to place a few of them in likely positions and possibly have spotter drop his rounds at turn 1.

We should see some American faces on the 1st turn, and then can decide if to let the rounds fall on the trps or hold off.

TRP's aren't normally available in meeting engagements. I am not sure that the integrity of this battle can be maintained using TRP's, especially now that we know the general SU zones of the Allies (and they of ours). Kerry needs to make that call first.

Second, assuming TRP's are OK, my first question from my prior post needs an answer. Are we limited to placing TRP's in our own SU zones (or even just one type), or can we place them anywhere on the map?

No TRP's. They really don't suit this type of scenario as Bill noted.

But you can have as much Arty as you want with the Offensive force - with the defensive force just what is embedded in Infantry formations & the support category.


*{Edit- you can select units in "Italy" from 10/44 or earlier date if you want just like the other scenarios}

Its fairly evident that witht he amount of forces we are allowed, we will be trading shots on turn 1...there fore the outcome of th first 2-3 turns will no doubt dictate the flow of the entire game...We should front load with the heaviest armor available to us...
