Heavy Metal tourney?
All right then, how many players are interested in a "Heavy Metal" CMBB competition? This would simply be a fun, "how good are you tactically vs. tanks of equal ability" deal.
I'm thinking of 3-5 tanks of exactly the same type vs. each other: which will more accurately reflect the player’s skill to victory, not equipment superiority. No flags to capture, just who's left alive at the end. Short & small scenario's, 10-15 turns, 1 week time limit per scenario with 5 scenarios, terrain to be randomly chosen (unless someone has "better" armor terrain types in mind). Ex. Scenario's #1 T-34's vs Captured T-34's. - (Completed but not counted) #2 PzIIIJ's vs " PzIIIJ's - Completed #3 PzIV's vs " Pz'IV's - Completed #Bonus Round T-60's & OT-130's vs same. - Completed #4 PzV's vs " PzV's - Running #5 Stug III's - Running #6 Valentine III's (AK) Running #7 Matilda's (AK) (round eliminated) #F (Final round) Combined Pz's above vs Captured above Pz's on a larger map & time limit Obviously with only a few units to control per side this event should rock & roll. (good for TCP!) This should last less than 2 months (ya right!), and since it’s not for “ladder points” those who fail to finish on time will be left immobilized behind. Victory pts per tank: 5- Undamaged & still moving 3- Movable but with damage: crew loss/gun disabled. (Live to fight another day) 2- Immovable: but no loss of crew/gun damage. (Risk of capture by the enemy) 1- Immobilized but damaged: crew loss/gun damaged. (dang it!) Most pts wins! :) Pass the word! Armor isn't the strongest part of my game. But this sounds like fun, and unlike certain CM players and triple ladder leaders, I'm willing to play games in which I might be challenged. I'm in!

I'd add a flag and give it a point or two, otherwise there is no reason to attack the opponent, its worth more to play cautious and save the armor....

Maybe the points per tank idea should just be abandoned? The whole reason behind this is to get players active & have fun with pure armor in an "easy" competition over the holidays. Plus see how well you play against another player with even equipment. It's not really about getting points. :) Then again the players signing up here are the type to play in the spirit of the tourney and not try and fudge the rules to win.

You could do it this way Kerry.
A dumbed down scoring system for idiots like me. 5 points for a Kill 3 points for an Immobilize{Shell Hit, non Shell Hits dont count} 1 point for a Damaged Gun Or any other point system you like for that matter. No Flags. This makes the players attack each other and there is no need for flags. I like the no flag idea.

Id like to add that the points should carry over from game to game to give incentive to be on the attack. The person with the most points at the end would win. Therefore someone who holds back wont earn as many points as an aggresive player, thus eliminating the need for flags.
