Although I feel differently about using Tigers on this map than Bill,
I do not feel that a single platoon of tanks is enough fire power when attacking.
The Stugs in over watch for the MIVs is a better choice for me, especially if Ivan uses A/T guns in defence

I also wouldnt attack using the road through Mezvovo for the same reasons that Bill stated, plus it would be a deathtrap if the the Ivans put a few trps on the road.

There is still a lot of ground for infantry to cover in 30 turns.....

Hmmm, just to make sure, as Bill showed in his last post, each team has 2050 TOTAL points to spend for his force.
1050 in his Offensive Formation & 500 in his Defensive formation (not 2050 in each).

Edit- 1500 Offensive / 550 defensive... +-10 pts. thanks Bill.

Here's what I expect us to face:

Soviet Offense (1,509 points)

2 x reg. T-34 '43 (early) platoons
Green T-70 '43
Green T-60 '43
Regular Battalion Mot. Rifle (Tank '42)

Soviet Defense #1 (551 points)

Reg. Motorized Pioneer Battalion (Mech)
3 x reg. 76 mm Ziss gun
2 reg. Maxim MG
Green DP LMG

or

Soviet Defense #2 (551 points)

Reg. Rifle Co. (Motorized)
Vet. 76 mm Ziss gun
Reg. 76 mm Ziss gun
Vet. 45 mm ATG
Conscript DP LMG

With this in mind, and in light of Kerry's post, I think it is now up to Bob to decide what our offensive and defensive forces will be.

Kerry isn't is it 1,500 on offense and 550 points on defense with a slush 10 points to distribute on top of that?

I would assume we are facing the greater of the Defense options, that being option #1 with the pioneer BN. Which would drive me to think our Sissi offense would be best suited given the 75mm and 81mm spotter. Someone convince me other wise, or we go with this:

Offense:
1 Platoon SS Mech Stug III/8 (regular) 301 pts
1 Bn Finish '42 Sissi (regular) 1208 pts
total 1509 pts

Defense:
1 Mountain Aufk Company (veteran) 461 pts
3 Mnt 75mm Infantry guns (green) 90 pts
total 551 pts

Grand Total 2060 pts.

(thanks Jag, great anaylisis! You'd make a great G-2)
