Default DaVinci

As a therapy for my Menieres Disease, my Doc suggested i try to get back into modeling. He belives forcing myself through the vertigo may help me beat it in the long run.

In my first attemp at re-entering the wonderful world of modeling i found a replica of Leonardo DaVinci's Catapult at my local Hobby Lobby. Its unfinished, but comes with eveything else you need, including a pad of clay to roll into lttle balls of ammo for it. I stopped at a local hardware store and picked up a tin of Old English Chestnut stain to finish the wood. I know it isnt authentic, but when dry it will give it a neat "antique look".

They have a full line of his "models" up there. Including the Air Screw, Paddle Boat, Spingarde Cannon, Armored Car, Ballista & Ornithopter. Id like to make them all eventually if im able. There are alot more online.

I never knew these things existed until i stumbled arcoss them in the Hobby Lobby up in Altoona a few weeks ago. They are alot more simple than what i used to build in the past, but i need to ease into it again and these look like the perfect models. Easy to build and such a cool subject.

Here is a look at the box art and parts in the package -
