Default Die Cast Buy of the Week

For the week of 2/19/06 we have a 1/32 scale [read: large model] Messerschmitt Bf109G – “Black Double Chevron,” Maj. Franz Gotz, Gruppenkommandeur III/JG53, Orvieto, Italy, 1944. It's a very good buy at $49.99 from a good little mom and pop purveyor.

You can find it here:

For the week of February 26th, we have the original monster of all die cast items. It's the original issue of the giant 1:16 King Tiger at only $380 with free shipping for the 50 pounds of tank you get. The catch is that there is only one left. Here's the link:

For some great and detailed pictures of this tank that arrives in a crate, check this out:http://www.onsitediecast.com/special1.htm

Well it maybe soon that they sell the last KT, which was featured last week. So it's time to post the buy of the week for
March 5, 2006.

This week we have the rarely done British Firefly. This one has a hull mounted machine gun, so it must be a II C. It is a discontinued W. Britains, so get it quick if you want one. I have one in my collection. Here's the link:

OK, I couldn't resist a second offering for this week. For those of you who like big bombers at a reasonable prices, here a B-24 D from the Ploesti raid in August 1943. You can see it here:

Default For the week of March 19, 2006

This week our ground offerings feature two W. Britain World War two tanks, with two design choices of each. The scale of each is 1:35 (which means that they are more than twice as large as the 1:72 Dragon line). The price of each is a very low $25.

First is the tank that some consider the best of World War II--the Soviet T-34. Both are T-34/76s and can be seen here:

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/17497A.shtml

and

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/17497D.shtml

The second are German Pz IVs from the Afrika Korps. They appears to be the G ausf. They can be seen here:

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/17460I.shtml

and

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/17460J.shtml

You can read more about the W. Britain tanks at Mike's on this page:

For you air buffs, this week's buy is a 1:72 scale US 8th. Air Force set of 3 Planes, B-17 (looks like an F model), P-51-D Mustang & a P-47 Thunderbolt. The three plane set is offered at an amazing price on only $55. It can be found at Pete's by way of this link:
