Default Boku Goes with Matrix

As expected, Boku Strategy Games, formerly associated with Shrapnel, has associated itself with Matrix.

Here's the press release posted at Matrix:

"The veteran developer will be teaming up with Matrix to bring a new line of wargames.
Matrix Games is excited to announce that they have reached a multi-game publishing agreement with Boku Strategy Games (www.bokustrategygames.com). This new partnership will see an enhanced re-release of both the Horse and Musket 2 Series and the Combat Command 2 series. In addition,Tim Coakley of Double Shot Design will be working together with Boku Strategy Games in the design and development of the next un-announced game series being developed.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “We’ve admired Boku and their games for years and we’re thrilled to have their development team as well as their outstanding products under our label. We expect great things to come from working together with both Double Shot and Boku.”

Boku Strategy Games is comprised of the talented trio of Mike Cooney, Dave Erickson, Magnus Pettersson who are known for quality wargames like the Combat Command series and the Horse and Musket series. The Combat Command series is Boku’s well received foray into company-based WWII warfare where players battle cunning AI opponents in a turn-based hexagonal movement system. Complimenting the Combat Command titles is the Horse and Musket series which takes gamers back a bit further in time to 18th century warfare. Like Combat Command, Horse and Musket is played on a hex playing field with turn-based game play utilizing company-sized units.

Boku’s Mike Cooney commented on the recent collaboration, saying: “We’re excited to be signed with Matrix. We feel recharged and ready to go with a partner that can work with us. Matrix has the resources and the ability to support us and our game development efforts. We’re also equally as excited at the prospects of a joint development partnership with Double Shot Design. We know a joint effort between Matrix, Boku, and Double Shot will lead to great things not only for us but also the wargaming community.”

Tim Coakley from Double Shot Design also added, 'Double Shot Design’s collaboration with Boku provides a unique opportunity for both parties. We’re already excited at the results we have seen.' ”
