Default A Neat Piece Of History Found....

A friend of my who is an auction junkie, He buys antique Radios and Clocks, recently bought a lot of several Radios at auction. {If some of you are unfamiliar with auctions, sometimes auctioneers will put items together into lots, especially at estate sales, to move items that are less likely to sale/get rid of worthless items/more items, ect} The estate sale my buddy was at was for a former bank executive from a banking firm thats been around since the founding of the country. It has changed names a few times but its existance has been uninterrupted. The lot he bought came with a collection of old papers spanning back to the late 1770's. He mostly wanted it for the old stamps, but he had no idea of the treasures that awaited inside the folded parchments!

I made the following scans on his flatbed scanner of one of the papers i found. Its a Pa. County by County Taxation Table done by i belive the Treasurer assessing the Tax sitation in Pa. just after the Revolutionary War. Very cool indeed. It was amazing to hold something that old in your hands that was talking about something pretty signifigant. I got a bad case of goose pimples i can tell you that.

The first scan is of the top of the page as the paper was too long to get it all in one scan. Enjoy!
