That demo for CM-BN almost sent me back off of trying CM again after all of these 10+ years. Thought just couldn't get anything straight still as to how to move around and all that artillery and spotters, mortars? I spent hours trying to figure that camera out and couldn't get it done. No more right click and there is the movements.. Couldn't get past that part.
Thank goodness CM1 was still able to try and play again. Did that 2.0 patch simplify movement of the camera any then, as compared to the earlier (CM1-3) titles? I'd like to try playing some PBEM games again with you guys on the earlier engine if any are willing. Bill and I are just now starting one and would like to startup another cpl if possible. Mark

I'm still playing all of the CM2 titles from CMBN on.
Although it takes some time to get used to the changes these games are (imho) better than the first cm series, I would love to see some of my KG friends play.

Wow--hard to believe that later this year it will have been a full decade since CM x 2 was launched.
Haven't followed too closely, but it appears that CM x 2 WW II series currently consists of 3 or 4 base games (all in all covering parts of the ETO, Italy and the Eastern Front). It looks like they sell serial updates for each of the games and are currently up to versions #4. Is most of the H2H game play done in real time, WeGo or some other method? Is it most often played like the SOW series; by way of email or in some other fashion?

I play we-go as do most of the players that I am aware of.
There is a slick setup for email games that makes file swapping nearly flawless. It is a combination of free programs called CMhelper and Dropbox. After the initial first file transfer CMhelper automatically uploads the turn to a shared Dropbox folder and alerts your opponent that they have a turn waiting. I have all the games and expansions including the modern Black Sea title.

Check it out also now and then.. hoping another will drag out CMBB or CMAK again and give it a spin..
Have found a few guys over at TheBlitz that are great people after weeding out some last few years since reloading the classic games. |
